Heartbeat pairs rose-pink petals with finely fringed edges that add a little extra detail to the familiar tulip cup. Plant it among smooth-petaled flowers for a gentle contrast in the late-spring garden.
- Type: Fringed
- Bloom season: Late spring
Planting and care
Plant in fall in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Set bulbs pointed end up, about two to three times their height deep, with at least twice their width between bulbs. Store bulbs in a cool, dry place until planting. Outdoor bloom timing varies with climate and weather.
For cutting, harvest when the bud shows color but has not fully opened.
