Donatello keeps the classic tulip shape and adds a soft wash of pink over white petals. Its quiet coloring is lovely in a simple bunch, or alongside other pale flowers when you want a softer palette.

• Type: Triumph

Planting and care

Plant in fall in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Set bulbs pointed end up, about two to three times their height deep, with at least twice their width between bulbs. Store bulbs in a cool, dry place until planting. Outdoor bloom timing varies with climate and weather.

For cutting, harvest when the bud shows color but has not fully opened.
