Cairns is full of soft pink petals, finished with a delicate pale fringe. The double flowers reward a closer look, making this a sweet late-spring tulip to plant where you will pass it every day.

Planting and care

Plant in fall in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Set bulbs pointed end up, about two to three times their height deep, with at least twice their width between bulbs. Store bulbs in a cool, dry place until planting. Outdoor bloom timing varies with climate and weather.

For cutting, harvest when the bud shows color but has not fully opened.
