Time: 9A until 12P

In this comprehensive 3-hour session held on our Western MA farm, you'll gain the knowledge and confidence needed to embark (or improve) on your seed starting journey. Our workshop covers essential topics, including:

  • Soil blocking vs. Plug trays
  • Equipment (basic to tools for scaling)
  • Germination requirements
  • Building your own seed germination chamber (yes, we'll build one together!)
  • Ideal growing conditions
  • Special considerations for cut flowers (though techniques are transferable)
  • Step-by-step instructions
  • Managing seedlings that outgrow their space
  • Keeping seedlings healthy until planting

Highlights to make your experience even more enriching:

  • Hands-on experience every step of the way.
  • Network with like-minded growers and farmer-florists.

While we highlight special cases for cut flowers, the techniques taught are valuable and transferrable to all seed starting, including vegetables, herbs, and more!

Each participant will leave with the expertise to nurture their seedlings, a valuable 'Mastering Seed Starting Guide,' a comprehensive source list, and more!

Join us on our farm for this immersive experience. Portable restroom access will be provided. Please note that each ticket is valid for one adult, and this workshop is exclusively for adults.
