Crown Jewel is a clear yellow tulip with pointed, curving petals that give the flower its little crown shape. Plant a group where the unusual outline can be enjoyed up close, or let the bright color shine among softer spring flowers.

Planting and care

Plant in fall in a sunny spot with well-drained soil. Set bulbs pointed end up, about two to three times their height deep, with at least twice their width between bulbs. Store bulbs in a cool, dry place until planting. Outdoor bloom timing varies with climate and weather.

For cutting, harvest when the bud shows color but has not fully opened.
