Thank you for doing this, this is so kind! :) I’m most looking forward to losing hours under the sun with my fingers in the soil. And making our local community members smile when they see these gorgeous blooms. The renewal of life after winter is always a welcome sensation…. sounds, sights, scents of the environment waking back up reminds me how invigorating the seasons can be. The seasonality and progression, the changes in rhythms, that each few weeks brings…I really love how everything just comes into its own, shines while conditions are right, then fades into the background while something else takes a spotlight. Seasonality and the fleeting qualities of life just makes me appreciate everything that much more when the natural world perks back up after a restful winter. 😊

After trying my hand here and there to grow cut flowers for my personal use (with extras gifted to friends and family), these season I am finally taking the leap into a small scale farmer florist business, HoneyLush Blooms! Sales will still be very local to neighbors and a single farmers market. staying in my lane and starting small and hopefully growing from there. We also have bees!

I am looking forward to leap and the learning curve. I have learned so so much from complete strangers on various forums & blogs (like yours) who are kind enough to help guide the next generation of flower farmers. Winning a few extra dahlias to add to my collection would be the cherry on top!

First off, congratulations on finishing orders. That’s always a lot of work. I think what I am looking forward to this growing season, is being able to see more dahlia blooms, and get some seeds. My season is quite short, and it can jist get shorter depending on the weather. Regardless, I am waking up dahlias early this year, and I am also growing some from seed. How exciting! Last year I got a couple of dahlia tubers from the Westfield Farmer’s Market (I live nearby in Granville, MA) and they did SO well in my garden.
